Purpose

This tool can adjust your Windows computers system clock to be in synch with any program or process.

An example:

Sometimes an amateur radio operator you may encounter issues with time synch to other radio amateur stations working in digital modes like FT8.
If the difference is more than 1 second there may be problems to decode the station or be decoded by these target stations.

With DB7CA ARtools function “Time adjust” you can stop your normal time synch process and adjust the needed system time value manually.
Now you can get in synch to work these stations successfully.
You can even reset to original time or set again quickly.
After leaving the tool your possibly paused services (NTP, …) get restarted again.

The advantage is not to manipulate something in your Windows operating system’s configuration!

Function “Timeshift

Keep in mind that no NTP service/daemon may be running in parallel to avoid the blocking the system time adjustment!

ATTENTION: Please use TAB “Setup” first to select the time synch service or program to be stopped, before you can use “Timeshift”! Else it won’t work!!!

Function “Clips”

Most times you’ll have to put in the same text snippets into JTDX, logbooks and other progras for the currently used station equipment like antenna, tuner, transceiver aso.!

If you don’t want to put in these values manually, use “Clips” to easily store your text clips there and reuse them anytime and anywhere you want.

Simply click the entry and then press the button “Copy to clipboard”. Paste it where ever you want.

Use “Add” to put in new clips into the list.

Use “Del” to remove selected clips from the list.

Use “Save” to store the changed text of a selected item.

Setup

Here you can setup conflicting services or programs to be stopped! Maybe else ARtools cannot change the time or it is overwritten again by these tools.

To stop such a service like NTP demon at program startup, please fill the "Service name" field. You get the service name by:

Windows "Start | Run" then type: services.msc

Double click on the requested service for the property window. It shows you the service name you can use.

Examples:

1.       For Meinberg’s Network Time Protocol implementation it is NTP

2.       For Windows Time synchronization it is W32Time

You can switch VERBOSE mode ON for testing purpose. With verbose mode the CMD window keeps open after stopping or starting a service.

To stop a program, you can search for the EXE file via the magnifier icon. Select your EXE and you are done.

If you need, please insert parameters into the required field.

When leaving the program, the service or program gets restored again

Changes are automatically saved!!!
